Pearl Moore Certification Champion Award

The Pearl Moore Certification Champion Award recognizes the enduring impact and dedication to excellence of an individual that has demonstrated a lifelong commitment and passion for and served as a true champion for oncology nursing certification. This lifetime achievement award is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an individual who has made exceptional contributions and demonstrated sustained support for certification in our field. This award recognizes both the impact of their work and their enduring influence and legacy. Recipients are presented with a cash award and crystal recognition piece.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Significance of Contributions: The recipient shall have made substantial and influential contributions to oncology nursing certification—including mentorship, advocacy, organizational leadership and support, ONCC volunteerism and leadership, and/or other efforts that have had a lasting impact.
  2. Duration and Consistency: The recipient shall have demonstrated a long-term commitment and consistency in their contributions and supportive efforts.
  3. Impact and Influence: Their efforts shall have had a significant and positive influence beyond their immediate sphere of activity. This could include positively impacting potential and current certified nurses, influencing policies and practices, and/or inspiring future generations within their field.
  4. Reputation and Legacy: The recipient shall be respected within the profession (locally and/or nationally) for their contributions and have created impact that will extend beyond their active years of contribution.
  5. Personal Character, Leadership, and Ethical Standards: Personal qualities such as leadership, vision, and mentorship also will be considered. The recipient shall have played a meaningful role in guiding others, fostering collaboration, and/or advancing the profession through leadership positions or mentorship of younger professionals. And the recipient shall have maintained high ethical standards throughout their career, demonstrating integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to the betterment of their field particularly through the support and advancement of oncology nursing certification.

 

Nomination Instructions

Recipients are selected by the ONCC Board of Directors. Formal nominations are not accepted. Recommendations for consideration may be submitted to the ONCC President by emailing president@oncc.org and will be taken into consideration by the Board of Directors. This award may or may not be awarded annually, at the discretion of the ONCC Board of Directors.
